The Breadfirst Way
I started Bread First as a natural extension of my lifelong relationship with food—one shaped
by science and the simple joy of feeding the people I love. I studied Nutrition at Lady Irwin
College, Delhi University, and worked at AIIMS and VLCC before taking time off to raise
my children. Even then, my instinct as a mother and a nutritionist was the same: to create
food that was wholesome, nourishing, and made with intention.
My baking journey began almost by accident—first with healthy laddoos for my daughter
when she attended boarding school, and then with small workshops where I explored
everything from salads to desserts. However, it was during my travels across Europe with my
husband that I developed a deep fascination with sourdough and the craft behind slow, honest
bread-making. Eleven years ago, I took my first sourdough course — and there was no
looking back! What began as gifts for family and friends eventually grew into a small home
bakery in 2019 called Healthylicious.
Today, that journey evolves into Bread First—a rebrand that reflects my first love: bread.
But it also represents something wider. Bread First brings together everything I’ve learned
over the years: European-style sourdoughs, classic viennoiseries, handcrafted crackers, and
wholesome Indian sweets rooted in nutrition and tradition. Every batch is made without
preservatives and synthetics, and every product reflects a balance of craft and care that I’ve
built slowly, with love.
Bread First is my way of offering something warm, comforting, and thoughtfully made in a
world that often moves too fast.
